Common Greetings

Salutations (Greetings)

  • Hello – Bonjour

  • Hi – Salut

  • Good morning – Bonjour

  • Good afternoon – Bon après-midi (less commonly used than “Bonjour”)

  • Good evening – Bonsoir

  • Nice to meet you – Enchanté(e) (use “Enchanté” if you’re male, “Enchantée” if female)

  • How are you? – Comment allez-vous ? (formal) / Ça va ? (casual)

  • My name is… – Je m’appelle…

  • I’m… – Je suis…

  • Let me introduce myself – Permettez-moi de me présenter
